Blakeshine
Meet Blakeshine, one of our Queens of the Night. You might recognize Blakeshine from dropping truths on the Comedy Central Stage as Big Expression, or from headlining Big Fire Festival, LA's first overnight comedy festival that she co-founded, or maybe you know her as the Creative Producer of Dirtybird Campout. Described by LA Weekly to "stand out like a rainbow-colored cactus in a bowl full of apples and orange", Blakeshine has designed immersive stages for music festivals across the U.S and is a "demonstrated expert in the comic realm" according to Dancing Astronaut. Her theatrical work, noted to invite audiences to reflect on and celebrate the absurdity of life, has been seen at Electric Forest, Lightning In A Bottle and Desert Hearts. Blakeshine can usually be found with a megaphone in hand, draped in fur and walkie talkies, answering to the callsign of "Daddy." Meet Courtney FruitFly, one of our Queens of the Night. Touted by Bravo TV as "Chez Panisse meets Studio 54," Courtney Nichols is a nightlife impresario who carved an eccentric niche with her theatrical and thematic dinner parties. Her namesake - Disco Dining Club - is a rambunctious food & drink experience that welcomes hedonists and regulars alike, requesting but one thing of guests: to "consume everything." Disco Dining Club has been featured in L.A. Times, Playboy, Subvrt Magazine, Food & Wine, Oxygen Network, Forbes, and Hollywood Reporter (amongst others). If you are ever on the hunt for Courtney in a crowded room, look for the woman with bedhead, red lips, and poppers in her hand.
